We held a very successful and vibrant exhibition and were delighted to have sold around a third of paintings exhibited. almost 300 people visited us and enjoyed the display along with yummy refreshments. Thank you to all those who exhibited, helped and visited our exhibition. Visitors choice of favourite painting was won by Jackie Woods, pastel, with the view out to sea at Norfolk. From the exhibition we donated £165 to Huntingdonshire Cancer Care Network.

We gathered for a Christmas lunch and then we discussed our 'winter themed' paintings we had created using some collage.

A great workshop held by Nina Sage where we all had the opportunity to design, cut and print a lino cut design. Nina joins the list of brilliant art tutors who have visited Grafham and Ellington Art Group to work with us.
Many of us already have a collection of coloured pencils but had never used them and we were delighted to welcome Jill to our art group for the coloured pencil workshop. Jill demonstrated and gave us clear instructions and many techniques so we were able to practice these whilst drawing poppy seed heads.

We exhibited just under 200 paintings and we continue receive feedback that the quality and variety of work on display has increased. We sold 50 paintings and gave 10% of sales to 'Regain' charity.
Visitors choice topic 'Jolly Holidays' and was won by Iris Brooker - very many congratulations!
Once again the Art Group was invited to be part of the Annual Ellington Gala and Flower Festival. The theme this year was 'sayings', and the Art Group had 'Every Picture Tells a Story'. Peter Osborne painted the joyful Wind in the Willows board and the second board displayed individual paintings, which each tells a story, by members of the Art Group. Wonderful flower displays led by Lorna and helped by Lin and Jackie.

Techniques shown were
One hour to paint a quarter of an image of the River Ouse and then piece them together! Great exercise using tracedown graphite paper and each artist used their chosen medium, this was followed by a yummy afternoon cream tea to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the art group.
Key points of workshop - sketching figures, painting firgures with watercolour, noting proportions of figures, tearing figures out of paper and placing in landscape/streetscape. Very successful session.
